January Community Update

We will continue in Phase 3 of our Reopening Plan and Thursday will be a B day for our In-Person learners while Ridge continues with an AM/PM schedule. For Grades 1-8 students you may reference the remainder of hybrid Quarter 2 calendar.

As you plan ahead for Quarter 3 which begins on Monday, February 1, we will be continuing in Phase 3. You can reference the hybrid Quarter 3 calendar here. Again, we are strongly discouraging parents from selecting a different mode of instruction for their children in the new quarter (for example - moving from remote to in-person or vice versa). If too many parents elect for changes, resectioning of classes may be necessary. In the event of an extenuating situation or a change is desired, please contact your child's school principal to discuss. All requests must be made by Friday, January 15 at 3:00pm.

Please be advised that per the Cook County Health Department (CCDPH), students returning from travel must quarantine for 14 days upon their return and that students who falsify the daily certification may be moved to remote learning for up to the remainder of the year, determined on a case by case basis. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school main office. For reference, we have included the following documents:

Thank you for your continued support and adherence to our safety protocols. Strictly following these mitigations have enabled us to keep our schools open and students coming for in-person instruction.

We are also asking parents/guardians to consider participating in committee work aimed at discussing school reopening plans and/or task force groups focused on the areas of:
  • Student Achievement
  • Gifted Education
  • School Reconfiguration
If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Liz Ehrhart, Curriculum Coordinator, at [email protected]. It is important to note that the District will need to limit the size of the committees and task forces, therefore, may not be able to have all interested families participate. We appreciate all our District families for their constant support and willingness to help the District continue to grow.

Here's to 2021, our best year yet!
